There is no other time in your life quite like pregnancy. You often feel joy, uncertainty, discomfort and pain at times. To get you through the next 40 weeks, you’re going to need all the help you can get. Now is the perfect time to bask in any sort of relief you can achieve. And while no two pregnancies are going to be the same, I’m positive these products will make pregnancy just a bit more bearable and even fun.
I asked real moms what items they loved during their pregnancy, and these are some of the items they’d recommend time and again to their best friend (and I love these items too).

1. Prenatal Vitamins
Try as you might, you may not be able to get all the nutrients from food alone that you and baby need. That’s why you need to be taking prenatal vitamins. Prenatal vitamins contain super important vitamins and minerals you need such as folic acid, iron, calcium, and more.
I’ve had three pregnancies and tried my fair share of vitamins. I learned that I’m not a fan of the gummy ones, but I love these. They’re easy to swallow and don’t leave a nasty aftertaste.
I like to think of prenatal vitamins as backup goodness to ensure baby’s getting what he/she needs when I can’t muster the courage to swallow my veggies.
2. Water Bottle with Time Markers
I’ve never been a water drinker even though I realize how important it is. The one thing that really helped me drink enough water during pregnancy and for fitness was making it readily available with gentle reminders. Let’s face it, with the million other things you have to do in a day, you’re bound to forget to hydrate. And that’s why I love these type of water bottles so much.
Many moms — myself included — love using these fun water bottles with time markers. If you struggle with getting enough H2O, check these out. Fill it up, and keep it within reach to ensure you’re staying hydrated.
3. Pregnancy Pillow
Once you’re pregnant, getting a good night’s sleep seems to be a thing of the past. You need all the rest you can get, but that’s hard with getting up constantly to pee and the tossing and turning that ensues. That’s why you need a pregnancy pillow to help you find comfort during sleep.
The Bellaband is hands-down my favorite pregnancy item. When you can no longer zip up, let alone button your pants, the Bellaband will hold up your pants for you! No need to drop tons of money on maternity jeans that costs a fortune, wear your regular pants with the help of this super handy product.
It’ll be the best investment you make because it works throughout all the stages of your pregnancy. Your body and wallet will thank you.
5. Pregnancy Belt
Not to be confused with the Bellaband, a pregnancy belt is used to provide support to your abdomen and back as baby grows. It helps to relieve back pain and soreness. If you’re in doubt about if it could help you, please consult your physician.
6. Belly Cream
More belly help here. As your belly grows and the skin gets stretched, it may become dry and you’ll likely get stretch marks. Use a belly cream to rehydrate your skin and reduce stretch marks. Not all creams are created equal, so I encourage you to do your research and find the one that would work best for your skin. To get you started, moms love Burt’s Bees Mama Bee belly butter.
The face on your skin will most likely change too. Mine felt drier than normal, but I know some moms even experience a bit of acne. I loved using this face cream throughout my pregnancy. Feel free to try it or research one that would work for your face.

I didn’t experience any heartburn with my first and third pregnancies, but I did get them frequently with my second pregnancy. When other methods failed to provide relief, my doctor okayed me taking an over-the-counter antacid. Of course, consult with your physician if you’re in doubt about what’s safe for you.
9. Pregnancy Book
If you manage to find some free time, you may want to do some reading. My favorite along with many moms the nation over love reading this one. It’s considered America’s pregnancy bible and is the longest running New York Times bestseller.
10. Keepsake Pregnancy Journal
Even though 40 weeks sounds like a long time, it will go by fast. Take time to record all the special moments because you’ll love looking back on them. Check out this super cute book. It’s organized by trimester and includes prompts for you to add your belly and ultrasound photos along with anything else you’d like to write.
You Got This
With some (or all) of these items in your pregnancy arsenal, it’ll be as smooth sailing as possible. Take time to fully enjoy this time because you’ll soon be welcoming the newest addition to your family. Good luck, Mama! <3
